The 5th arrondissement
Home to the Latin Quarter, the 5th arrondissement is the center of youth in Paris. This is where you'll find many of the most prestigious universities in the city, as well as the students who go there to learn and study, to get ready to go out into the world.
The area's academic nature goes all the way back to the Middle Ages, thanks in large part to the prestigious Sorbonne University, established here in 1275. From then on, most of the academics and intellectuals stayed in this district, eventually giving rise to other respected institutions that now make up the Latin Quarter. As a result, the 5th arrondissement is often referred to as the “Students' District.”
Don't forget, however, that beyond the schools and universities, the Latin Quarter is home to many other incredible spots. Perhaps the most prominent of them all is the Panthéon, one of the grandest churches in the city. You can't miss its imposing Romanesque facade even from a mile away! And this place has the honor of housing the remains of countless prominent Parisian figures over the years—Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Marie Curie, and Josephine Baker, to name a few.
As the central axis of the district, Boulevard Saint-Michel has become the most popular area in the 5th arrondissement. Lined with chic bistros, cool shops, fascinating boutiques, and hip cafes in Paris, the area draws in locals and tourists alike. It's even become a popular spot for students to hold demonstrations, political protests, rallies for social justice, and the like.
In terms of its location, the 5th arrondissement is bordered by the 1st arrondissement, the 4th arrondissement, the 6th arrondissement, the 12th arrondissement, the 13th arrondissement, and the 14th arrondissement.
Transport
Since many of the 5th arrondissement's largely young population consist of those that are more than able to commute, it's no surprise that public transport is alive and well here. The district serves the 4, 5, 7, and 10 lines of the metro, as well as the C line of the Réseau Express Régional (RER). Thanks to the latter, it's fairly easy to get to the airport and back from this arrondissement.

Schools
As already mentioned, the world-famous Paris-Sorbonne University is located in the 5th arrondissement. But it's not the only prestigious academic institution in the area. There's also the PSL Research University, Institut Dauphine d'Ostéopathie (IDO Paris), École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, LISAA Paris Mode, and many more.

Offices
Strangely enough, there aren't a lot of companies that have headquarters in the 5th arrondissement. The biggest name that has set up shop in the area is Paris Habitat, one of the biggest housing companies in the city.
Real Estate
It's easy to think that the Latin Quarter is only made up of studio apartments or one-bedroom flats that are good enough for the students who study here. But that's not exactly the most accurate. The 5th arrondissement also has enough multiple-bedroom rentals and luxury homes that families can move into. And they'd benefit from the largely affordable prices and living costs in the area too.
