The 19th arrondissement
The 19th arrondissement feels unlike any of the other districts in Paris. Since it's known as the area of urban regeneration, the place feels a lot newer compared to the other parts of the city. This isn't to say that the arrondissement has lost its history nor does it even look too modern, but the energy here truly projects the “here and now.”
You'll see the district's contemporary edge when you check out Parc de la Villette, the third-largest park in all of Paris. Situated along the banks of Canal de l'Ourcq, this place looks and feels modern. Especially La Géode, the geodesic dome that's practically the symbol of the park. Part of Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie (City of Science and Industry), a science museum located within the park grounds. It's just one of many similar attractions you'll find here. And the massive scope of the park also makes it a frequent venue for all sorts of festivals.
Near Parc de la Villette is Bassin de la Villette, an artificial lake where locals and tourists alike can have all sorts of fun. Far from the scenic Seine River in the other district, this is more of a family-friendly space. You'll find people hanging out along the lakeside promenade, doing all sorts of water sports on the lake, and more. And every summer, they set up the Paris plages, man-made beaches where people can have fun under the sun within the city during the hottest season of the year.
Another park in the 19th arrondissement is Parc des Buttes-Chaumont on Rue Botzaris. Occupying 61 acres (24.7 hectares), it's one of the biggest and undoubtedly among the most beautiful green spaces in Paris. It even boasts all sorts of natural wonders such as a grotto, waterfalls, and a massive lake. Its pièce de résistance is Île de la Belvédère, a rocky island in the middle of the lake. Perched atop its high cliffs is Temple de la Sibylle, a Romanesque temple modeled after the Temple of Vesta in Tivoli, Italy. It's one of the best Instagram-worthy spots in the city.
In terms of its location, the 19th arrondissement borders with the 10th arrondissement, the 11th arrondissement, the 18th arrondissement, and the 20th arrondissement.
Transport
Since it sits on the northwestern edge of Paris, public transport in the 19th arrondissement isn't as accessible compared to the other districts. This isn't to say that it's hard to commute here. The area still sees its fair share of taxis, buses, and metro lines. In fact, metro lines 2, 5, 7, 7b, and 11 run in this district. So getting to and from the 19th arrondissement isn't that big of a problem. The same, however, could not be said about traveling beyond Paris since there are no Réseau Express Régional (RER) lines that pass by here.
Schools
The 19th arrondissement boasts a wealth of prominent schools. The prestigious education institutions located here include the International Fashion Academy, École des Ingénieurs de la Ville de Paris, École Nationale des Fleuristes - Paris, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, and ESLSCA Business School Paris.

Offices
The district also doesn't lack various company headquarters too. A good number of businesses have set up shop in the 19th arrondissement. They include La Halle, Club Med, Emmaus, Pin Up Secret (beauty), Brink's France, OpenClassrooms, Urssaf, and even the CPAM Office,
Real Estate
Considering its location, it makes sense that the real estate market in the 19th arrondissement isn't the strongest. It's practically the outskirts of the city, a fair distance away from the most popular parts of Paris. Nevertheless, there are still many people interested in renting or purchasing properties in this district. As mentioned previously, the 19th arrondissement is a flagship of urban regeneration. Thus, it's a good area for many to settle down in.
