The 13th arrondissement
Home to the city's Asian Quarter, the 13th arrondissement upholds the diversity in Paris. And while the area is dominated by Asian communities, many people from different parts of the world have also settled down here.
Perhaps the most famous spot in the 13th arrondissement is Chinatown. Similar to many districts of its kind in other major cities around the world, Chinatown offers a slice of the East within these European halls. From authentic delicacies to interesting gadgets, there's always something new to discover here. Not to mention some flavorful food to enjoy as well!
You'll also find the Paris Rive Gauche neighborhood in this arrondissement. A modern residential area where people of different incomes, social standings, and more live in harmony, it's perhaps the most modern part of the French capital. Its contemporary architecture alone already makes it look like it's a separate town altogether. They present a beautiful and fascinating contrast to the more popular Haussmann buildings and Renaissance or Baroque structures of Paris.
It's also in the Paris Rive Gauche area where you'll find the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (National Library of France). Formerly housed in the Louvre, its new home is a lot more modern and state-of-the-art. Nevertheless, it remains a great place for reading, researching, and the like.
While you're still in the 13th arrondissement, don't forget to check out the Butte aux Cailles district. It's a "lost village" comprising cobblestone streets lined with maisonette houses. Beautiful in its provincial charm, it's a slice of the French countryside here in Paris!
In terms of location, the 13th arrondissement borders the 12th arrondissement, the 14th arrondissement, and the 15th arrondissement.
Transport
Unsurprisingly, public transport is fairly easy to navigate in the 13th arrondissement. There are many metro lines and Réseau Express Régional (RER) that pass by here. For the former, there are lines 5, 6, 7, 10, and 14. While for the latter, there's the RER line C.
The RER C travels to Versailles and Orly Airport.
Schools
Since this district is close to the 5th arrondissement, home to the Latin Quarter, the 13th arrondissement also has a good number of schools to offer. The most prominent ones are Centre Tolbiac – Campus La Sorbonne (in Olympiades), Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO), Ecole Internationale de Mode (EIDM), Institut Français de la Mode - HESAM Université, École Publique Estienne ESAIG, Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Paris School of Business - Ecole de Commerce et de Management à Paris, FMS - L'école de Commerce du Food Business, and NEOMA Business School - Campus Paris.

Offices
Most notably, the 13th arrondissement is home to Station F, the biggest startup campus in the world. If you want to start your own business, this is the best place for you to begin. But if you're looking for more established companies, there's no need to worry. Companies like Groupe Le Monde, Group BPCE, and Subway France have their headquarters here.
Real Estate
As mentioned previously, all sorts of people live in the 13th arrondissement in Paris. The diversity in the area doesn't just come from the foreign communities that have settled down here. From families to single students, people of different age brackets, income groups, and social statuses live in the area. As such, the real estate market here is pretty stable. Even more so since it's become a go-to option for expats who just moved to the city.
